When I was designing my dream kitchen I knew that I wanted something that would really set it apart from other kitchens I had seen. My copper hood from CopperHoods really made the difference. It is not only beautiful, but the function of the hood is top notch. I can cook anything in my kitchen and all fumes are pulled up and away out of the house. Whether I am pan frying fish or meat, you cannot tell or smell, as it so effective. My experience with working with the designer, Adam, was fantastic. His commitment to meeting my satisfaction and level of client service was exceptional. The hood was more than I could have hoped for, and I am so glad that I went with CopperHoods. The whole process was done online and over the phone, and it was the easiest part of my kitchen remodel. They were extremely responsive and proactively called me to ensure that received my designs and was happy with the outcome. I would highly recommend CopperHoods to anyone who is looking to add a new hood in their kitchen.
General Information on Island-Mounted Hoods
Island-mounted hoods put more stress on the ceiling than a wall-mounted unit. A wall-mounted unit attaches to the wall and ceiling while an island-mounted hood solely relies on the ceiling for support. Larger range hoods may require reinforcement of the ceiling to adequately support their weight.
To ensure adequate ventilation with an island range hood, you will need one larger than your range's dimensions. For a 30” range, we recommend at least a 34” range hood. This allows smoke and steam from cooking to be more thoroughly exhausted than what is possible with a smaller hood.
Our range hoods are all handcrafted and available in a variety of textures and colors to complement any kitchen decor. In addition to several patterns, you can have your range hood personalized with the design you provide. CopperHoods offers free shipping for customers within the continental U.S.
Why Install an Island-Mounted Hood Range
Kitchen ventilation is necessary to remove grease, smoke, fumes, smells and gaseous byproducts looming in your kitchen. An annual average of 4-1/2 liters (1 gallon) of cooking fat resides on the cool surfaces of walls, ceilings and cupboards. This build-up causes discoloration and dulls paintwork. An island mount ventless range hood protects the value of your kitchen.
An island mount ductless range hood utilizes a carbon filter. The filter provides better, cleaner air ventilation without needing an air duct that leads outside. Because a ductless range hood spills less hot air into the outdoors, your house will retain more warmth.

Island-Mounted FAQ
How does an island-mounted hood work?
The hood creates a pressure vacuum to pull air into the appliance. The exhaust hood sucks in hot air, grease, smoke and smells to filter them out of your kitchen space.
What is a ductless range hood?
Our island-mounted range hoods are ductless, meaning they effectively filter the air without costly ductwork installation.
What gauge is used for island-mounted copper hoods?
CopperHoods uses 14-gauge copper which requires minimal care, thanks to its superior quality.

My Hood looks great. Thank you to everyone over there. I got exactly what I was expecting after a lot indecisiveness on my part and patience on the side of CopperHoods to make sure I loved what I was getting.
